Artist Spotlight of the Month: Magic City Hippies

Magic City Hippies, Miami’s Indie Funk Darlings, may be the best trio that you probably haven’t heard of yet.  Made up of Robby Hunter, Pat Howard, and John Loughlin, Magic City Hippies have a slow, summer vibe that will kick off any “I Miss Summer Playlist”.  Every song off of their Hippie Castle EP reminds you of a day at the beach and makes you long for the waves and rays.

The band started out as a one-man street performer in Robby Hunter.  When Pat and John joined they released their first EP called Magic City Hippies under the name Robby Hunter Band (this EP is equally great and deserves a listen).  After joining forces, changing their name to Magic City Hippies, and releasing Hippie Castle in 2015, MCH has over 2 million streams on Spotify and their hit “Fanfare” went to #1 on Spotify’s Global Viral Top 50.

All of this groups songs are a compilation of fun and funky, chill and groovy, easy slow vibes that keep you smiling from beginning to end.  This is everything you didn’t know you were missing from your music library.  I highly recommend checking them out on Spotify and giving your ears a vacation.  Look for a follow up LP to be released soon.  Stay groovy!
